DRY RAPA AND DRY EXTRACT GUARANTEE HIGH EFFICACY OF TREATMENT
DRY RAPA
The dry rapa preparation is a dry water-soluble concentrate of highly mineralized curative water from the Karachi-type mud lakes in Siberia, based on natural rapa. It has a pronounced antiphlogistic, analgesic and biostimulating effect in inflammatory disorders of the locomotor system, the hepatobiliary system, and the upper respiratory passages, as well as gynecological, stomatological and dermatological afflictions involving inflammation. What is new about this drug is its property to stimulate local and general immunity. The drug is nontoxic, easily dissolves in cold and hot water, causes no allergic reactions and has a mild action on the cardiovascular system. The stability of the chemical composition in lengthy storage is guaranteed.

Cervical osteochondrosis The combination of pharmacological action and electric potentials has an antiphlogistic, analgetic and
resorptive effect, followed by certain normalization of reflexes and stimulation of the vegetative and trophic processes. Subjectively, the patient notes certain
improvement of the general wellbeing (analgesic effect) after the second or third treatment session. Towards the end of the course of treatment (10th to 12th treatment)
the pain syndrome is markedly alleviated or removed altogether. Therapeutic efficacy is noted in 90 per cent of the cases. Rheumatoid arthritis Treatment with the drug in question has a pronounced antiphlogistic, analgesic and resorptive effect, improves
blood circulation in the muscles and joint tissues and widens the range of active locomotion. Electropharmacologically, rapa solution favorably influences the immune system, which makes it possible to reduce the dosage of antiphlogistics (voltaren, ibuprophen). A therapeutic effect in acute conditions is recorded in 87 per cent of the cases. A therapeutic effect in chronic conditions is noted in 90 per cent of the cases.

Dynamics of clinical characteristics as influenced by SMC-phoresis with dry rapa solution: drastic drop, to 50 per cent and lower, of the pain and sedative indexes and the degree of immobility after treatment. A therapeutic effect of varying degree and form is recorded in 92 per cent of the cases.

Pharmacological action in combination with electrotherapy ensures above all an antiphlogistic and analgesic effect. An important factor is stimulation of local immunological reactions (immunogiobulin A secretion) in treating with dry rapa solution. Indications for physiobalneotherapy with dry rapa concentrate: - acute salpingitis, - exacerbated chronic salpingitis, (infectious-toxic variety), - nonspecific colpitis, - endocervicitis. Contraindications: - irritated abdomen symptoms, - hyperplastic processes in the genital sphere. Treatment with dry rapa concentrate prevents chronization of the inflammatory processes in the genital sphere and the development of recurrences. Subjective improvement is noted after the 3rd or 4th treatment session. Objective improvement sets in after the 5th to 6th treatment session. A maximum therapeutic effect is recorded after the 10th to 12th treatments sessions. A stable therapeutic effect lasts for three years in 90 per cent of the cases. The restoration of the reproductive function is recorded in 46.9 per cent of the cases, with two-thirds of the cured women conceiving in the first six months following the course of treatment. Including Karachi rapa in the complex of treatment contributes to the improvement of the patient's general wellbeing, normalization of the clinical and biochemical characteristics, enhancement of the phagocyte properties of the peripheral blood and stimulation of the body's immunological reactivity. In acute conditions complete recovery comes about in 98 per cent of the cases and in chronic ones, in 90 per cent. Methods of treatment - baths, electrophoresis, ultraphoresis and electrotherapy combined with microenemas.

A rapa-based drug is a component part of the general complex of treatment of skin diseases (psoriasis, neurodermitis). The main medicinal forms are creams and ointments with rapa concentration of 1 to 4 per cent. Towards the end of the course of treatment infiltration decreases and morphological elements become resolved. A therapeutic effect is recorded in 60-65 per cent of the cases. Chronic cholecystitis Electrotherapy in combination with other methods is used at the stage of incomplete remission and receding exacerbation. A therapeutic effect is recorded in 91.7 per cent of the cases. Diseases of the upper respiratory passages Rinsing and inhalation are indicated in inflammatory processes, in the nasopharynx, as well as for the preventive purpose. A therapeutic effect is recorded in 95 per cent of the cases.

Powders, pastes, and medicated antiphlogistic films based on rapa solution are used. Rinsing and inhalation are prescribed for the preventive purpose. A therapeutic effect is recorded in 95 per cent of the cases. Cosmetics In the cosmetic industry rapa solution is used in preparing creams for various types of skin, lotions and shampoo for hair, and aerosols.

It is prepared from medicinal silt sulphide mud of the Karachi-type. The drug exhibits antiphlogistic, analgesic, healing, hepatoprotective, biostimulant and sedative action and is extensively used in treating inflammatory disorders of the locomotor system, the gastrointestinal tract, the hepatobiliary system and the upper respiratory passages, as well as gynecological, skin and dental afflictions. What is new about the drug in question is its ability to stimulate local and general immunity. The highest therapeutic effect of mud extract treatment is achieved with concentrations of 1 to 6 per cent. Tolerance to treatment is very high and there are much fewer contraindications than in the case of mud application. The stability of the chemical composition in lengthy storage is guaranteed. The dry extract preparation has the following advantages over nonsteroid antiphlogistic agents: - Absence of side effects and allergic reactions; - Possibility of treatment against a background of allergic disorders; - Sparing action on the cardiovascular system; - Possibility of treatment when natural mud therapy is contraindicated; - No harmful effects in repaaied courses of treatment; - Long stability of the chemical composition, hygienic and bacteriological characteristics and therapeutic effect; - Low production costs and environmentally safe manufacturing process. Mode of administration: electrophysiotherapy (electrophoresis, phoresis, SMC-phoresis), compresses, ointments, liniments and additives to cosmetic creams.

Cervical and lumbar osteochondrosis Disappearance or alleviation of the pain syndrome, extenuation of statodynamic disturbances, strain symptoms and disturbances in the sensory and reflex spheres. The effect of treatment is over 90 per cent. Long-term results demonstrate a stable therapeutic effect. Rheumatoid arthritis Favourable changes in the clinical and functional characteristics have been recorded in 69 to 75 per cent of the cases (chronic course of disease). Psoriatic arthritis A favourable therapeutic effect is recorded in various stages and forms of arthritis in 92 per cent of the cases. Thermal burns Regenerating and stimulating action on the skin, enhancement of the proliferation and differentiation of germinative layer epidermic cells with the intensification of nucleic acids, water-protein and fat metabolism, as well as enhancement of the functional activity of the cutaneous cell elements and cutaneous metabolic processes.

Resumption is recorded, with the lowering of the intensity of infiltration and cutaneous lichenification. Drugs based on mud extract are included in the overall complex of treatment of cutaneous diseases with the exclusion of hormonal preparations. A therapeutic effect is 70 to 75 per cent.
